WE ARE PROUD OF WHO WE ARE!
“Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”

- Dan Gable, Olympic Champion, Wrestling

You ask,
we answer.
How did you select the mental skills in this program?

Doug and Shannon hand‑selected each skill from their own journeys—spanning youth leagues to the Olympic podium. Every tool proved indispensable when they confronted fear, powered through setbacks, and delivered clutch performance under pressure, all while keeping sports fun. Along the way, they trained with world‑leading sports psychologists, hypnotherapists, elite mindset coaches, and top athletes, absorbing the best of their expertise. They refined those insights, adapted them to real‑world competition, and demonstrated their power on the sport’s biggest stages. Now they’re passing that hard‑earned playbook on to our Champions Advantage athletes.

Let’s talk pricing...

Adding extra fees to an already costly season can feel like a tough sell, but the numbers speak for themselves. A single one‑hour session with a sports psychologist typically costs $100–$250 per athlete per visit —and multiple visits may be needed to cover a full range of skills.
Champion’s Advantage, by contrast, delivers 16 essential mental‑performance skills for as little as $6.25 per skill. While our program is group‑based rather than one‑on‑one, that shared setting encourages athletes to practice vulnerability, support teammates, and strengthen the team culture that propels everyone higher.
In short, it’s a high‑value investment that equips athletes with lifelong mental tools—long after their competition days are over.

Where do we need to teach the skill?

Our program can be taught anywhere your team can meet consistently. A dedicated classroom is ideal—minimizing distractions and letting coaches use the prepared slides and videos—but it’s hardly the only option. Teams have thrived holding sessions in ski lodges after a day on the hill, on the sidelines of a soccer field, or virtually over Zoom. Pick the setting that fits your schedule; consistency is what matters most.

I don’t know anything about mental skills, how am I supposed to teach them to my team?

No prior expertise is required—Champion’s Advantage is designed so any technical coach (or team manager) can deliver elite‑level mental‑skills training straight out of the box. Each of the 16 lessons comes with a step‑by‑step Coaches Playbook, ready‑to‑run slide decks and fun explanation videos.  You will have to pre-read all of the lessons and be prepared with what you want to say.  It’s scary the first few times, but like we’re trying to teach our athletes, fear is always there, it’s how we handle it that matters!!  If questions pop up, Shannon, Doug, and a network of peer coaches are just a message away through group chat.   In short, the heavy lifting is done for you—you simply press “play,” guide the discussion, have fun in the activities, reinforce throughout the week and watch your team’s confidence and performance soar!

My athletes don’t think mental skills are important, how do I get buy in?

Athletes care about what their coaches, parents, peers, and role models deem important. If mental skills still seem unimportant, it’s often because no one has championed them, carved out practice time for them, or shown the payoff. Some players haven’t yet faced challenges that demand a stronger mindset; others simply haven’t linked these tools to real performance gains. You have the power to shift that perception by treating mental training like any core technical skill: prioritize it, keep it engaging, weave it into practices and competitions, and celebrate every improvement. As confidence rises and results follow, buy‑in will take care of itself.

So what comes next after we complete this program?

Champion’s Advantage is built as a four‑tier journey. Year 1 lays down the 16 core mental‑performance skills; each subsequent year levels up on certain skills and also introduces fresh, more advanced skills. By the end of Year 4, athletes emerge as mental‑toughness superstars. Roster turnover? No problem. Start the cycle again—new athletes master Level 1 while veterans step into leadership roles, reinforcing their own skills as they mentor the team.

Time is always an issue - how long does it take to teach the skill?

Allocate a consistent 30 minutes each week to teach each new mental skill. Our step‑by‑step session outline keeps coaches confident and on schedule, while a bank of flexible reinforcement activities lets you weave the skill into practices or downtime whenever it fits for you and your team. Pairing focused instruction with these timely touchpoints turns new concepts into lasting habits your athletes truly embrace.

What age and skill level athletes is this program for?

Our program is ideal for athletes aged 12–18. Ideally, athletes join as U14s and progress through the four‑year curriculum until they graduate high school. Every mental skill we teach applies across ability levels, and coaches have the flexibility to tailor each lesson to the age, maturity, and skill level of their team.

What is the max and minimum team size?

We recommend groups of 10 to 40 athletes —a range that lets coaches run the sessions and team activities smoothly while players feed off each other’s energy and camaraderie. Smaller or larger teams can still thrive; they simply require a bit more planning, clear accountability, and careful time management.

Does the coach always need to lead the 30 min session? Or can a parent or team manager lead?

Ideally, one or more coaches lead the weekly skill sessions, gaining the insight and confidence to reinforce each lesson throughout the week and in high pressure situations. However, teams have also thrived with a committed parent running the program; the sessions work as long as the session leader shares key takeaways with the coaching staff and brings unwavering passion, energy, and expertise to every meeting. When those elements are in place, athletes—and their mental skills—consistently flourish.

Do we have to cover one skill per week?

Pacing is entirely up to your team. We recommend introducing one skill per week, but some teams successfully cover two skills in the same timeframe, while others devote two weeks to a single skill for deeper mastery. Choose the rhythm that best fits your team’s schedule and learning style.

In what order do we teach the mental skills?

Flexibility is our program’s greatest strength—you choose the skill that fits your team’s needs in the moment. The curriculum includes core mental skills as well as competition day skills.  Mid‑season burnout? Run the “Fun” lesson to reignite motivation. Two weeks before a major event? Cover pre‑comp planning or post‑comp evaluations. Sensing extra jitters before a big game? Focus on the “Focus Breath” lesson. Teach what you want, when you need it, and keep your athletes confidently moving forward.

How does the group WhatsApp text thread work?

Silver and Gold teams receive a dedicated WhatsApp thread that includes coaches and athletes, with parents welcome to opt in too. Three times a week we share brief videos, motivating quotes, and extra resources to reinforce each lesson and keep athletes pushing their limits. We (as well as VIP athletes) jumps into the conversation to encourage, answer questions, and show athletes we’re firmly in their corner. Participation is optional, and every interaction follows SafeSport guidelines for your team’s safety.

Do we collect the “brainwork”?

Every skill includes a “Brainwork” page—think of it as guided reflection, not homework. We don’t collect these sheets, so your team can handle them however you like. Some athletes snap a photo of their completed Brainwork and share it in the group thread for feedback and encouragement; others fill it out during the 30‑minute session and discuss their answers on the spot, while some prefer to complete it privately afterward. However you manage it, this Brainwork is a critical piece of the learning process and becomes a personal reference athletes can revisit all season—and for years to come.

What if the coaches have questions or need guidance from Champions Advantage?

Coaches have instant access to a dedicated WhatsApp thread where they can ask questions, seek advice, or share insights at any time. Our team is always on hand to support you and your athletes, ensuring they master these mental‑performance skills, build lasting confidence, and reach the success you all envision.

How do you measure the success of the program?

When your team joins the program, every athlete first completes an anonymous survey that gauges current knowledge and use of mental‑performance skills. After the 16‑week curriculum, they take the same survey. We’ll share the before‑and‑after results so you can see the growth. Objectives differ by age: for younger athletes we plant the seeds—introducing core concepts they can draw on later—while older athletes dive deeper, mastering tools that let them confront any challenge and compete under pressure with 100% confidence.
